Before cooking, the wider end of the egg is placed onto PEEL JOY to create the precision vent. The egg is then removed from the device and boiled normally. As cooking takes place, expanding air can escape through the vent.

After cooking and cooling, the egg is peeled by hand. The cooked egg is not returned to PEEL JOY, as the device performs its function before cooking.
