ELGIN, Ill. - illiNews -- ELGIN, Ill. — Love on the Lawn and Boricuas Unidos de Elgin are announcing a new partnership that will bring BoricuaFest into the fifth annual Love on the Lawn celebration on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Festival Park in Elgin, Illinois.

The collaboration unites two Elgin-based community organizations for a shared celebration of music, culture, and community. BoricuaFest's participation follows the cancellation of its August 1 event due to inclement weather, allowing the organization to continue its 2026 celebration as part of the Labor Day weekend event.

The partnership also marks BoricuaFest's return to Elgin after a 14-year absence, bringing Puerto Rican music, food, dance, and cultural programming to the festival.

"Love on the Lawn has always been about community coming together," said Mike Page, founder of Love on the Lawn. "This partnership reflects that mission and strengthens what the event represents for Elgin."

In 2026, the City of Elgin has also proclaimed the Saturday of Labor Day weekend as Love on the Lawn Day, recognizing the festival's ongoing community impact.
