NAPERVILLE, Ill. ~ On Friday, May 1 at 9 a.m., the Naperville Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a 911 call regarding a possible building fire on the 00 block of 13th Avenue. The ECC immediately dispatched a full still assignment, which included two engines, one ladder truck, one medic unit, and two battalion chiefs.
Upon arrival, the initial responding units conducted a thorough survey of the structure and provided an on-scene report. They also established command at the scene. It was determined that a detached shed was on fire with no direct exposure to nearby residential structures.

The fire suppression companies quickly deployed a handline and were able to extinguish the fire in the detached building. Crews then worked to overhaul the area and ensure that all hidden embers were extinguished to prevent any further hazards.
Assisting at the scene was the Naperville Police Department. The estimated damage from the fire is $10,000 and it has been deemed unintentional. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters and no residents were displaced as a result of the fire.
