NAPERVILLE, Ill. ~ On Wednesday, Sept. 16, a structure fire was reported in Naperville, Illinois at approximately 1:13 p.m. The call was received by Naperville's Emergency Communication Center (ECC) and reported a detached garage on fire in the 30W000 block of Argyll Lane.
In response to the call, the Naperville ECC dispatched a general alarm assignment consisting of 10 pieces of fire apparatus and 24 personnel, including an incident commander and incident safety officer, to the reported address.
The first vehicle arrived at the scene at 1:18 p.m. and discovered smoke coming from the roof of the detached garage. Fire companies quickly ensured that all residents were safely out of the structure and adjacent house before stretching a single hose line to contain the fire.

By 1:23 p.m., incident command declared that the fire was under control. However, fire companies remained on the scene for an additional thirty minutes to ensure that all hot spots were extinguished and to vent residual smoke.
Assisting on the scene were the DuPage County Sheriff's Department and ComEd who helped secure utilities. The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries to any occupants or firefighters. The estimated damage caused by the fire is $40,000 and thankfully, no damage was done to the nearby house.
