NAPERVILLE, Ill. ~ A vehicle crashed into a residence on the 3000 block of Crystal Rock in Naperville on Tuesday, Oct. 6, sparking a fire that caused an estimated $500,000 in damage, the Naperville Fire Department said.
The department said its emergency communications center received a 911 call at 12:43 p.m. Crews were told the vehicle was smoking and the building appeared to be on fire. Responding firefighters found smoke and active flames at the rear of the home.

All occupants of the residence and vehicle were confirmed out of the structure, according to the department. The fire was extinguished at 1:12 p.m., and crews continued to put out smoldering embers.
The residence was deemed uninhabitable. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Naperville Fire Department was assisted by the Naperville Police Department, Warrenville Fire Protection District, West Chicago Fire Department and Aurora Fire Department.
