Chicago-based office furniture company helps more than 25 schools, nonprofits and community organizations while keeping high-quality furniture out of landfills.
CHICAGO - illiNews -- Office Furniture Center (OFC), a member of Wurkwel, announced that its 2026 Chair-itable Donation Program has provided more than 800 pieces of office furniture to over 25 schools, nonprofits and community organizations throughout the Chicago area.
The program connects organizations in need with high-quality task chairs, stools, stack chairs, lounge chair, and other types of seating that can continue serving a useful purpose. By finding new homes for these pieces, OFC helps recipients improve their spaces while keeping usable furniture out of landfills.
"Furniture reuse and landfill diversion have always been at the core of what we do at Office Furniture Center," said Mark Awtry, President of Office Furniture Center. "The Chair-itable Program is an extension of that work and gives us another way to support organizations doing important work in our community. Seeing this furniture put to good use has been incredibly rewarding for our team."

For more than 20 years, OFC has built its business around extending the useful life of commercial-grade office furniture. The company sources furniture from office closures, relocations and downsizing projects, then resells, refurbishes, donates or responsibly recycles it. These efforts help divert more than two million pounds of furniture from landfills each year.
Organizations interested in future furniture donation opportunities can contact Reception@officefurniturecenter.com.
