CHICAGO - illiNews -- Aerial Drone Photographers of America™ (ADPA) expresses its strong opposition to the recent temporary flight restrictions imposed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under the direction of the Trump administration. These restrictions significantly impact the rights of drone pilots to operate safely and freely as private citizens working in a professional capacity and are a direct assault on freedom of the press.
The ADPA believes in the importance of responsible drone usage, but we also recognize the need to maintain access to our skies for creative, commercial, and non-emergency purposes. The current restrictions unjustly hinder our ability to support our private small businesses, as well as the ability to capture vital aerial imagery for our commercial domestic clientele. We also oppose the sweeping restriction on constitutionally protected press coverage of news events and government activity.

ADPA calls on policymakers to reconsider these measures and to engage with the drone community to develop balanced, practical regulations that ensure safety without impeding the rights of responsible professional drone operators.
We remain committed to advocating for our members and promoting responsible, lawful drone operation across the United States.
