The systems detect threats, geolocate adversarial assets, extend defense communication lines, and feed a controlled Geospatial Information Repository (GIR).
EFFINGHAM, Ill. - illiNews -- Aerostratospheric today outlined its Defense Systems portfolio of passive aerial platforms designed exclusively for authorized government and military users. The systems detect threats, geolocate adversarial assets, extend defense communication lines, and feed a controlled Geospatial Information Repository (GIR).
The portfolio centers on three complementary elements:
Aerodefener — Stratospheric stealth-eye ISR platform that delivers wide-area passive observation using multi-band EO/IR and wideband RF spectrum sensors. Operating without active emissions, Aerodefener performs threat detection, asset pinpointing, and beyond-line-of-sight VHF/UHF mesh relay to restore or extend command-and-control links when terrestrial networks are degraded or denied.

Aerocombat Hexicopter (2027 concept) — Low-altitude autonomous tactical system for high-resolution intelligence collection and modular defensive obscuration (smoke-screen) deployment. It provides agile support for force protection and area screening while feeding the same data architecture as Aerodefener.
Defense GIR — Controlled Geospatial Information Repository that serves as the data backbone. It supports open, partner, and restricted access tiers with daily automated ingestion of anomaly feeds, natural-event data, satellite indexes, and reference layers. Restricted defense products remain under formal access control and are not published in public repositories.
Core capabilities across the suite include:
All platforms are designed for regulatory-compliant operations and contain no kinetic weapon systems. Aerocombat remains in the concept phase targeting 2027 evaluation pathways.

"Our approach prioritizes silent observation and resilient connectivity," said Jeremy D. Higgs, President of Aerostratospheric. "Aerodefener and Aerocombat give authorized users layered awareness from the stratosphere to the tactical edge while feeding a single controlled data repository."
Aerostratospheric develops aerospace-engineered platforms, conducts stratospheric research, and maintains controlled defense data resources under FAA Part 101 compliance. Full details are available at Aerostratospheric.com.
