One Plate, One Person is a cookbook created for people who cook for themselves, featuring 100 approachable recipes designed around thoughtful portions, simple ingredients, comfort, creativity, and the pleasure of making a beautiful meal for one.
CHICAGO - illiNews -- Christina McQueen today announced the launch of her Kickstarter campaign for One Plate, One Person, a cookbook featuring 100 recipes created specifically for individuals cooking for themselves. The 21-day campaign has a $4,900 funding goal. The campaign is live now at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/oneplateon..., with additional information available at https://oneplateoneperson.com.
One Plate, One Person was created to transform the everyday experience of cooking for one. Rather than treating a solo meal as an afterthought, the cookbook reframes it as an act of self-care and creativity—a ritual worth doing well, every single time. Across 100 recipes, the book gives solo cooks approachable meals designed around thoughtful portions, simple ingredients, and the pleasure of sitting down to something made with intention.

"I wanted to change the way we think about cooking for one," said Christina McQueen, creator of One Plate, One Person. "It shouldn't feel like you're making do. It should feel like you're showing up for yourself."
The Kickstarter campaign will help bring the book through its final professional stages, including editing, design, printing, packaging, and delivery. Backers can choose from multiple support tiers, including a digital edition, paperback, signed edition, collector edition, and The Signature Collection featuring a hardcover edition and signature apron.
McQueen, a Chicago-based entrepreneur with more than two decades of cross-industry experience, created One Plate, One Person as more than a cookbook. Built around the motto "Make Today Beautiful," the brand is designed to encourage people to slow down, care for themselves, and find meaning in everyday rituals. Future plans include editorial content, community experiences, and additional products rooted in the same philosophy.
