Lupus Warrior LaShon Gurrola, RN Leads Group for people living with lupus and their caregivers.
CHICAGO - illiNews -- "I wholeheartedly believe the lupus community should help advocate and secure the supports we need." That statement by LaShon Gurrola, RN has benefitted dozens in the lupus community over the past two years. Gurrola began the Elmhurst Lupus Support Group earlier this year.
"LaShon's vision and commitment to providing the lupus community a safe place to learn, share and grow is exactly what we work to accomplish at the LSI," says Charles Brummell, CEO of the Lupus Society of Illinois (LSI) the organization working with LaShon. "Lupus can be isolating – support groups provide a remedy for that isolation."
