The Naperville Police Department made two arrests late Friday night, October 16, in response to a call where a gun was fired in an apartment located in the 1300 block of Modaff Road.
One adult male and one juvenile were arrested as part of an ongoing investigation of the October 16 incident. Police do not believe this was a random act.
Rickie L. Ellis II, 20, of the 3600 block of Shannon Ct. in Plainfield, was arrested and charged with one (1) class X felony count of Home Invasion, in violation of 720 ILCS 5/19-6(a)(3), one (1) class 1 felony count of Residential Burglary, in violation of 720 ILCS 5/19-3(a), and one (1) class 4 felony count of Criminal Trespass to Residence, in violation of 720 ILCS 5/19-4(a)(2).

The juvenile, also from Plainfield, was charged with the same three (3) felony counts.
Mr. Ellis was transported to the DuPage County Jail to await a bond hearing and the juvenile was transported to the youth home to await a hearing. The Naperville Police are still investigating the identity of the third person who was able to escape by jumping out the third-floor window and fleeing in a dark-colored sedan. If anyone has additional information regarding this investigation, they are encouraged to contact the Naperville Police Department at (630) 420-6666 and ask for the Investigations Division.
The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
