NAPERVILLE, Ill. — At 6:48 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19, Naperville's Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) received a call for a structure fire in a single-family home located in the 3200 Block of Haider Ave. Naperville 911(PSAP) dispatched a general alarm assignment consisting of 10 pieces of fire apparatus and 24 personnel including an incident commander and incident safety officer to the reported address.
At 6:53 p.m., Engine Company 6 arrived on scene reporting flames from the chimney. Engine 6 deployed a handline into the interior of the house and found no fire extension into the residence. The fire was contained to the fireplace and chimney and an exterior attack was conducted, assisted by Naperville Truck 7. At 7:19 p.m. the fire was deemed under control. Fire companies remained on the scene another 30 minutes to ensure all fire had been extinguished in the chimney.

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted by the Naperville Police, Public Works, Plainfield and Oswego Fire Departments. The cause was deemed accidental. There were no injuries to any occupants or firefighters while operating on scene. The building was deemed to be habitable with some damage to the interior due to extinguishment.
