CHICAGO - illiNews -- Think Outside Da Block announced its fifth installment of the Roll N Peace critical mass bike tour at the Chicago Firehouse Engine Company 84 located in Englewood Square at 63rd and Halsted on June 19, 2020 at 4:00PM. Using cycling as the plan of action to address the mental health and wellness of the Englewood community the Roll N Peace critical mass bike tour decreases violence touting "zero incidents of violent crime in the 007th district" (former 007th district Commander Roderick Robinson), increases physical fitness, and improves emotional, psychological, and social well-being by helping "…show peaceful ways to connect and build with each other" (Valerie Jones Licensed Professional Counselor).
The world is reeling amidst COVID-19 and the death of George Floyd. In response to these events Think Outside Da Block has mobilized Roll N Peace 5 for a Juneteenth celebration of black culture and history. Think Outside Da Block has partnered with My Block, My Hood, My City, The Joseph and Bessie Feinberg Foundation, DIVVY/Lyft, Working Bikes, Imagine Englewood If, Teamwork Englewood, 007th District Chicago Police Department, a grant from the Chicago Fund for Safe and Peaceful Communities made possible by the Partnership for Safe and Peaceful Communities, the Inner-City Muslim Action Network, Resident Association of Greater Englewood, Chicago Family Partnerships, Building Strong Millennials, Englewood Square, Oak Street Health, Greater Englewood Chamber of Commerce, Englewood Branded, Equiticity, Chicago Park District, City of Chicago's SAFE Ambassadors and a host of other community organizations throughout the Englewood community in order to bring Roll N Peace 5: A Juneteenth Celebration to life.

The event starts at 4:00PM at the historic Chicago Firehouse Engine Company 84 located in Englewood Square where attendees can register to receive free bike rentals through a partnership with DIVVY/Lyft. Participants also receive a free t-shirt, face mask, hand sanitizer and COVID19 screening to ensure compliance with CDC regulations for social distancing. At 8:00PM participants will embark on an 8 mile bike tour through the historic Englewood community. The tour concludes where it began at the Chicago Firehouse Engine Company 84 and welcomes back participants with food, fun and music in a healing space.
Think Outside Da Block is a nonprofit organization created to enhance the standard of health in the Englewood community through community-based mental health care, collective impact strategies and the provision of safe spaces. To achieve this objective, we believe must address the root causes of health including, but not limited to, environment and economic development.
