CHICAGO ~ Chicago Mayor Calls for Resignation of School Board President
In a statement released today, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson has requested the resignation of Chicago School Board of Education (BOE) President Reverend Mitchell Johnson. The mayor's call for resignation comes after Reverend Johnson made controversial and offensive statements that were deemed unacceptable.
Mayor Johnson stated, "Today, I asked Chicago School Board of Education (BOE) President Reverend Mitchell Johnson for his resignation, and he resigned, effective immediately." The mayor went on to express his disappointment in Reverend Johnson's remarks, which included antisemitic, misogynistic, and conspiratorial statements.
