The Midwest personal injury law firm founded by Attorney Andrew S. Kryder delivers solid results for workers injured on the job by pursuing third-party claims against negligent drivers and defective product manufacturers to recover full and fair compensation beyond workers' compensation.
CHICAGO - illiNews -- The Kryder Law Group, LLC Accident and Injury Lawyers today announced the resolution of two third-party workplace injury cases totaling $860,000, which are two more solid six-figure results for clients who refused to settle for less than they deserved. Both results reflect the firm's steady commitment to holding outside parties accountable and recovering full and fair compensation for workers injured on the job—whether by a negligent driver or a defective product.
In the first case, the client was working at a railyard in Joliet, Illinois, when he was struck by a semi-truck. Because his injuries were caused by an outside party, he had grounds for a third-party lawsuit. The client suffered a fractured shoulder that required surgery, physical therapy, and pain management. We filed suit against the trucking company, alleging negligence on the part of the driver. After completing mediation, the case settled for $725,000.

In the second case, a client was injured on the job in Justice, Illinois when a defective propane tank released propane directly onto his hands. He suffered chemical burns to his hand and nerve damage to his elbow that required pain management and surgery. Rather than limiting his recovery to workers' compensation, the client had grounds for a third-party products liability claim against the manufacturer. We filed a lawsuit alleging that the tank manufacturer failed to ensure the safety of its product. After conducting written discovery and depositions, the case settled for $135,000.
"Workers hurt on the job often think workers' compensation is their only option, but that's not always the case," said Andrew S. Kryder, Founding Partner. "When a negligent driver, a defective product, or another outside party is responsible for the harm, there may be a third-party claim that goes well beyond what workers' comp can offer. Our job is to find every path to recovery and fight for the full compensation our clients deserve."
