CHICAGO - illiNews -- Better Together and Family Church are partnering to host a community job fair for Chicago Heights-area residents from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 25.
The church-based job fair will connect job seekers with 20 local employers who are ready to hire. Participating employers include Chicago Heights Steel, Chicagoland Prison Outreach, Faith at Work, Franciscan Health, Great Kitchens Food Company, JBS Foods, Land O' Frost, Natex Intermodal, Norgren, Nu Era Staffing Partners, ProTrans International, Prudential Home Health Services Corp., Quality Assurance Human Resource Service, Simos, Sonoco, Staffing Inc, Sweet Love Home Care Agency and The Exodus Projects.
Free one-on-one job coaching sessions are also available to job seekers to review resumes and interviewing skills, as well as resources and services including haircuts, clothing and support from local ministries Chicagoland Prison Outreach and The Exodus Projects.

The community job fair is part of Better Together's "Better Jobs" program, which has helped 34,000 applicants connect with employment opportunities across 20 states. At job fairs hosted by Better Together, two-thirds of attendees get a job interview, and one out of four receive a job offer on the spot.
"In this season of hopelessness, churches across the country are stepping up as a beacon of hope through community job fairs," said Megan Rose, CEO of Better Together. "Our life-changing jobs ministry is committed to finding solutions and restoring hope for anyone seeking economic stability for a better, purpose-driven life."
The Aug. 25 job fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chicago Heights Park District, located at 1400 Chicago Road in Chicago Heights. Job seekers can register at BetterTogetherUS.org/Events/ChicagoHeights-JF.
