CHANGZHOU, China - illiNews -- Cheeron Construction Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. has officially signed a supply agreement with China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC) to provide over 1 million mechanical rebar splices for the Shanghai East Railway Station, a national key infrastructure project.
With a total floor area of 753,000 square meters and a total investment exceeding RMB 150 billion (approximately US$21.3 billion), Shanghai East Station will integrate multiple high-speed rail lines, including the Shanghai-Suzhou-Nantong and Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou railways. As China's first station to pioneer an integrated air-rail transport hub model, it is scheduled for full completion in 2027.
The supplied products include standard threaded rebar coupler, reducer rebar coupler, and headed bar coupler, all offering tensile strength exceeding 735 MPa and fully compliant with Chinese GB standards and international ISO requirements. Deliveries will commence in 2025 in phases, ensuring the main structure is topped out and operational by mid-2027.

Compared with traditional lap splicing, Cheeron's mechanical splicing system significantly shortens construction time, reduces overall costs, and markedly improves both efficiency and structural safety.
As a pivotal node in the Yangtze River Delta integration strategy and a core component of China's coastal railway corridor, Shanghai East Station will drive high-quality development across the surrounding city cluster.
Committed to developing more stable, practical, and seismically superior rebar couplers, Cheeron aims to reach world-class standards in R&D and manufacturing. To date, the company has delivered over 50 million couplers globally and participated in drafting the national industry standard JG/T163. CRCC ranks among the top three global contractors by revenue.
