CHICAGO ~ Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson announced today that ten neighborhood business projects will receive a total of $2 million in Community Development Grants from the city. These investments are made possible through the Housing and Economic Development bond, which aims to support small businesses, create jobs, and revitalize local commercial corridors.

In a statement, Mayor Johnson emphasized the importance of these grants in fulfilling the promise of the Housing and Economic Development bond. He stated, "We know we cannot rely on the federal government, so we are doing for ourselves here in Chicago. I'm proud of these spring grant awards because they are strategic, targeted investments that are essential for the health and vitality of local commercial corridors."

The projects selected for funding represent approximately $4.5 million in neighborhood investments and cover a range of businesses across different neighborhoods in Chicago.
