City Barbeque wins People's Choice at Ribfest Chicago

CHICAGO - illiNews -- In its first year competing at Ribfest Chicago, City Barbeque walked away with the 2019 People's Choice for Best Ribs. Attendees at "Chicago's Best Food Fest" chose City Barbeque's award-winning ribs over more than a dozen others at the festival, which ran June 14–16.

The winning St. Louis–cut pork spare ribs were prepared just like the ribs are in every City Barbeque location every day: slabs are hand-rubbed with the joint's signature dry rub and smoked over local hickory wood, then painted with the joint's classic barbeque sauce. The result is a competition-quality, bite-of-the-bone slab that can't be beat. "Our incredible teams in Chicago are hands-down the best at what they do: serving and creating happiness for folks in our joints and all over Chicago," says Chicago Market Leader Clint Umphrey.
