City Barbeque wins People's Choice at Ribfest Chicago

CHICAGO - illiNews -- In its first year competing at Ribfest Chicago, City Barbeque walked away with the 2019 People's Choice for Best Ribs. Attendees at "Chicago's Best Food Fest" chose City Barbeque's award-winning ribs over more than a dozen others at the festival, which ran June 14–16.

The winning St. Louis–cut pork spare ribs were prepared just like the ribs are in every City Barbeque location every day: slabs are hand-rubbed with the joint's signature dry rub and smoked over local hickory wood, then painted with the joint's classic barbeque sauce. The result is a competition-quality, bite-of-the-bone slab that can't be beat. "Our incredible teams in Chicago are hands-down the best at what they do: serving and creating happiness for folks in our joints and all over Chicago," says Chicago Market Leader Clint Umphrey. "We're thrilled to support the North Center community with events like these, and are honored to have been named People's Choice at our first Ribfest!"
