LifeVac is a non-invasive, portable choking rescue device developed to offer a solution in choking emergencies. "Spotlight Television" will broadcast an interview with Arthur Lih, Founder, CEO & Inventor of LifeVac The upcoming interview is scheduled to air on CNBC as sponsored content and will offer key insights and actionable strategies to help parents.
RONKONKOMA, N.Y. - illiNews -- The vision of LifeVac came from a story that Arthur Lih, founder and CEO, heard of a woman in a hospital weeping following the death of her young son. The reason for his death was that a grape had become lodged in his windpipe and the Heimlich Maneuver did not work. Once he heard the story he set out to invent an apparatus that could clear an airway.
Below is a short clip from a recent interview with Arthur Lih scheduled to air as sponsored content on CNBC at 9 am EST on Saturday, March 8th, 2025.

On average, at least one child dies from choking on food every five days in the United States. This translates to approximately 73 deaths per year from food-related choking alone.
These figures highlight that while fatal incidents are relatively rare compared to nonfatal ones, choking remains a significant risk, especially for young children. The data underscores the importance and peace of mind that a LifeVac in the home or place of business can bring to parents around the world.

On average, at least one child dies from choking on food every five days in the United States. This translates to approximately 73 deaths per year from food-related choking alone.
- Age Vulnerability: Children under 5 years old are at the highest risk, accounting for about 75% of choking-related fatalities among those aged 0-19. This heightened risk is particularly notable in children under 4, where choking is a leading cause of injury and death, often due to their smaller airways and underdeveloped chewing and swallowing abilities.
- Total Choking Deaths (2001-2016): Across this 15-year period, there were 2,347 choking deaths reported among children aged 0-19 in the U.S. Of these, children under 5 made up the majority, with no significant change in the fatality rate for this age group after 2010 (remaining steady at around 0.16-0.18 per 100,000).
- Food vs. Non-Food Items: Between 66 and 77 children under 10 die each year in the U.S. from choking on food. Additionally, in 2017, 184 children and adolescents died from choking on non-food objects, such as toys, coins, or balloons. Hot dogs are identified as the leading food-related choking hazard for children under 3.
These figures highlight that while fatal incidents are relatively rare compared to nonfatal ones, choking remains a significant risk, especially for young children. The data underscores the importance and peace of mind that a LifeVac in the home or place of business can bring to parents around the world.
