Firefighters quickly sprang into action, ensuring that all residents were safely evacuated before deploying multiple hose lines and aerial devices to contain the blaze. By 1:25 p.m., the fire was deemed under control. However, crews remained on scene for another hour to extinguish any remaining hot spots.
The Naperville Fire Department was not alone in their efforts, as they were assisted by various departments including Naperville Police, Electric, and Transportation, Engineering and Development departments. Additionally, neighboring fire departments from Bolingbrook, Lisle-Woodridge, Warrenville, Oswego, Plainfield, and Westmont provided coverage during the incident.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported among occupants or firefighters during the operation. However, due to extensive damage caused by the fire estimated at $300,000 by Naperville's Transportation Engineering and Development team deemed it uninhabitable.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation as authorities work to determine its origin. In light of this incident's severity and potential danger posed to the community, the Naperville Fire Department urges residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to prevent future fires.
