~ Naperville, IL- On Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, a tragic accident occurred at the intersection of E. Warrenville Road and N. Washington Street involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck. The Naperville Police and Fire Departments were alerted to the scene at approximately 11:17 p.m.
Upon arrival, responding officers discovered a black 2007 Ford F-150 with severe damage to its front left quarter panel. Next to the pickup truck was a yellow 2003 Honda motorcycle lying on its side with significant damage.
Emergency medical attention was immediately provided by the responding officers and members of the Naperville Fire Department to the driver and passenger of the motorcycle. Sadly, the driver, identified as a 23-year-old man from Woodstock, was unresponsive and pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger, a 22-year-old woman also from Woodstock, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Ford pickup truck, a 20-year-old man from West Chicago, refused medical treatment on site.

According to preliminary investigations, it appears that the Honda motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Warrenville Road from Washington Street when it collided with the Ford pickup truck. The truck was making a left-hand turn onto westbound Warrenville Road from a private drive on the south side of the street.
Due to the severity of the crash, traffic crash investigators from Naperville Police Department's Traffic Unit were called in to investigate further. As a result, Warrenville Road was closed in both directions from Washington Street to Lucent Lane until approximately 3:45 a.m. the following morning.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed this tragic accident or has any additional information to contact Naperville Police Department's Traffic Unit at (630) 420-6117.
This unfortunate incident serves as another reminder for drivers to always remain vigilant on the road and to follow traffic laws to prevent such accidents from occurring. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and loved ones of those involved in this heartbreaking event.
