~ On Sunday, April 30, 2023, Naperville Police Officers responded to a report of a fight in progress and shots fired in the 1500 block of west Jefferson. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a victim who had been injured from being battered. It is believed that the victim had been targeted due to a prior dispute. During the altercation, a shot was fired but it is unclear what the intent was. The alleged offenders had fled before police arrived and the victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
