Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children younger than 19 in the U.S., yet childhood cancer research and services are vastly and consistently underfunded. Every $50 raised will fund one hour of research into cures and better treatments for kids with cancer.
To date, Northwestern Mutual, through its Foundation, has raised more than $30 million for the cause and helped to fund more than 400,000 hours of research to help discover life-saving treatments for children affected by the disease. Since starting its philanthropic program in 2014, Northwestern Mutual – Chicago has raised more than $575,000, funding 11,500 hours of research.
