NAPERVILLE, Ill. ~ Naperville, Illinois - The City of Naperville has announced a new partnership with North Central College and Naperville Neighbors United to host an event called "A Seat for Everyone: Naperville Comes Together." This initiative aims to bring community members of all ages, backgrounds, and perspectives together to build meaningful relationships.
The first meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Stevenson Hall in the Wentz Science Center on the North Central College campus. The event will feature a guided discussion and participants are encouraged to bring a personal object that holds meaning to them in order to spark conversation and connection.
According to Geneace Williams, the city's manager of diversity, equity and inclusion, the vision for this series is to create a thriving community where everyone feels connected, valued, and empowered to contribute to the well-being of all. Through conversation, storytelling, and ongoing engagement, participants will gain tools to expand their circles of connection and discover common ground.

The event on July 1st is just the beginning. Participants will form small groups that will continue to meet over the following months before reconvening as a large group in late 2026 or early 2027. All community members are welcome and encouraged to participate but must register at www.surveymonkey.com/r/NapervilleSeat.
This initiative is part of the City's inclusive community conversations in partnership with other organizations. The series includes storytelling and ongoing dialogue opportunities that foster inclusion within the community.
