EAST HARTFORD, Conn. - April 10, 2019 - illiNews -- The Connecticut Technology Council held its 15th Annual Women of Innovation Awards on Wednesday, March 27 at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington, to honor 51 women from across Connecticut for their innovation and leadership in science and technology professions. Of these finalists, (11) women walked away winners, including SKYRE's Karen Murdoch, for her accomplishments as an innovator and entrepreneur in the Small Business Innovation & Leadership category.
"This was quite an honor to be recognized amongst such an outstanding group of industry professionals," says Karen. "There was a recurring theme amongst the other honorees acknowledging teamwork and cooperation. It's not just about winning, it's about performing at your best so that everyone can benefit."
A hallmark of Karen's career is in solving some of the world's toughest technology and engineering problems. While working for (18) years with United Technologies' Space Systems group, she lead the design and development of International Space Station and Shuttle critical life-support systems. In 2005, she started her own engineering consulting business providing technical support for the aerospace and alternative fuel industries.
