ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill. - illiNews -- Mid-West Moving & Storage is proud to announce that it has been named Business Partner of the Year by Elk Grove Township during the 2026 Community Empowerment Fund (CEF) Annual Fundraiser.
The award recognizes Mid-West Moving & Storage's longstanding commitment to community service, charitable giving, and its ongoing efforts to support the Elk Grove Township Food Pantry through its annual Fill-A-Truck Food Drive and partnership with Move For Hunger, BOMA Chicago, and several local partners. "We are incredibly honored to receive this recognition from Elk Grove Township," said Luis Toledo, Founder and CEO of Mid-West Moving & Storage and Chicago Office Movers. "At our core, we are a moving company, helping people and businesses through times of transition. But we've always believed our responsibility extends beyond moving furniture and boxes. Strong businesses should also help move their communities forward."
Mid-West Moving & Storage has been a proud partner of Move For Hunger since 2010, helping collect and transport food donations from customers and community partners to local food banks and pantries. Since joining the network, the company has helped deliver more than 74,000 pounds of food, providing the equivalent of over 62,000 meals to families facing food insecurity.
The company's annual Fill-A-Truck Food Drive has become one of its signature community initiatives. In 2025, the drive collected 8,000 pounds of food, benefiting the Elk Grove Township Food Pantry and helping meet the growing demand for food assistance throughout the region.
"What makes this award especially meaningful is that it represents the collective effort of our employees, customers, community partners, and everyone who donated even a single item," Toledo said during his acceptance speech. "The incredible growth we've seen in our food drive is proof of what can happen when businesses and communities come together to help their neighbors."
