Smooth rock instrumental marks return of Billboard-charting artist
CHICAGO - illiNews -- CHICAGO – Guitarist H Allan returns with a vibrant new single, "Apt 251,"
an upbeat, radio-friendly smooth rock instrumental featuring his signature nylon classical guitar
work. Now available on iTunes, Spotify, and all major digital platforms, "Apt 251" continues
a tradition of meticulously crafted, high-energy instrumentals from the Chicago-based musician
whose music has landed on the Billboard Smooth Jazz "Most Added" Chart—twice.
Like his previous singles "Stiletto Heels" (2017) and "BAM!" (2020), "Apt 251" features a
lineup of elite musicians. Keyboardist Ron Reinhardt and drummer Eric Valentine Jr., both
longtime collaborators of saxophonist Richard Elliot, return to help bring H Allan's vision to life.
Allan played all guitars and programmed the track's groove-heavy bassline. The song was mixed
and mastered by Robert "Bobby" Martin, the multi-instrumentalist, engineer and producer

known for his work with Frank Zappa.
A lifelong musician, Allan picked up the guitar at age 8. Over the years, he has built a loyal local
following, playing in a variety of Chicago-based bands including The H Allan Band, Cougar,
New Jersey, and Hit List. His performances blend rock chops with melodic finesse, appealing to
both contemporary jazz and soft rock audiences.
Allan first gained national attention with "Stiletto Heels," a reimagined guitar cover of the
Richard Elliot sax classic. Upon its release, the single tied as the #1 Most Added track on the
Billboard BDS Smooth Jazz Chart. His 2020 follow-up, "BAM!", also debuted as a Most
Added track, confirming Allan's unique voice in the smooth jazz-rock fusion space.
Even before chart success, Allan had a brush with national fame. In 2010, he auditioned live
onstage for Season 5 of NBC's "America's Got Talent," performing for a packed house at The
Chicago Theatre. While the cheering crowd was on his side, the celebrity judges didn't see him

his craft.
With "Apt 251," Allan kicks off a new chapter in his recording career. The song is the first in a
series of original tracks he plans to release in the coming months, each rooted in melodic
storytelling and guitar-driven energy.
