~ Chicago-based energy company Invenergy has recently signed four contracts with Meta Platforms, Inc (Nasdaq: META) for the procurement of 760 MW of clean energy. This brings Meta's total clean energy procurement from Invenergy to over 1 GW.
According to Ted Romaine, Executive Vice President of Origination at Invenergy, the company is thrilled to work with Meta in providing long-term, clean energy solutions to support their operations. As the largest privately held clean energy owner, operator and developer, Invenergy is proud that their utility-scale solar projects will not only contribute to meeting Meta's clean energy goals but also create job opportunities and generate millions in local economic benefits.
Urvi Parekh, Head of Global Energy at Meta, expressed gratitude for Invenergy's long-term collaboration and stated that surpassing the 1 GW milestone in renewable energy procurement from Invenergy is a testament to Meta's commitment to using clean energy to meet their growing power needs.

Meta's Environmental Attribute Purchase agreements (EAPAs) are contracted through four strategically located facilities developed by Invenergy across the United States. These solar energy centers include Hardin II Solar in Ohio with a capacity of 150 MW and expected commercial operations in 2024, Delilah II Solar in Texas with a capacity of 150 MW and expected commercial operations in 2025, Tip Top Solar in New Mexico with a capacity of 110 MW and expected commercial operations in 2026, and Chalk Bluff Solar in Arkansas with a capacity of 350 MW and expected commercial operations in 2027.
The electricity generated from these projects will be delivered to the local grid, increasing regional reliability by providing power to nearby homes and businesses. In return for bringing new generation capacity online, Meta will receive clean energy credits. This partnership between Meta and Invenergy highlights the importance of investing in domestically produced electricity to meet the growing demand for clean energy.
