Naperville Accepting Applications for 2026 Special Event Permits

NAPERVILLE, Ill. ~ Naperville, Illinois - The City of Naperville has announced that they are now accepting applications for Special Event Permits for events taking place in the 2026 calendar year. The application period will run from June 5, 2025, to July 8, 2025.

According to city officials, any outdoor event held on City property, such as streets, sidewalks, and parks, will be considered a special event. Additionally, events that are deemed to have a significant impact on the city will also require a Special Event Permit. This includes events that require street closures (excluding neighborhood block parties), the closure of parking facilities and/or the use of city-owned property, and the posting of "No Parking, Tow Zones."

Interested event organizers can find permit applications, a Special Events Resource Guide, and event accessibility and sustainability checklists on the City of Naperville's website at www.naperville.il.us/eventpermit. All completed applications must be submitted by July 8, 2025.

It is important to note that some events may require additional licenses and permits for activities such as fireworks displays or the use of amplifiers or tents. In these cases, the Special Events Team will work closely with organizers to determine what is needed.
