~ Naperville Police Department Offers Citizens a Glimpse into Law Enforcement with Citizen Police Academy
The Naperville Police Department has announced that they are now accepting applications for their 10-week Citizen Police Academy (CPA) program. The academy, which will take place this fall, aims to give citizens an inside look at the inner workings of police operations, practices, and objectives.
Starting on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, and continuing every Wednesday night until Nov. 19, the CPA will consist of classroom lectures, interactive discussions, and hands-on demonstrations covering various aspects of police work such as patrol, investigations, forensics, and special response.
Police Chief Jason Arres expressed his enthusiasm for the program stating that "CPA is an excellent opportunity for a behind-the-curtains peak at how the police department in Naperville does business." He added that the class will allow residents to see the day-to-day operations of their personnel and introduce them to the different ways they work to protect and serve the community.
