NAPERVILLE, Ill. — In response to public comments received after the Dec. 8 project meeting, the consultant for the 248th Avenue Improvement project is performing a new noise assessment that accounts for traffic from the Islamic Center of Naperville's recently approved construction project on 248th Avenue. Results from the noise assessment will be posted on the project webpage, as well as discussed at two public meetings: at 5 p.m. on Feb. 3 in Council Chambers at the Municipal Center before the Transportation Advisory Board (TAB) meeting and at the 7 p.m. TAB meeting, also in Council Chambers.
Attendees must follow all applicable COVID-19 protocols. Watch the 7 p.m. TAB meeting live on WCNC (Ch. 6 – WOW, Ch. 10 – Comcast, Ch. 99 – AT&T) or online at https://naperville.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx. Download the meeting agenda here when it is available.

The City has identified the need to improve the portion of 248th Avenue that runs from 95th Street to 103rd Street. The goal of this project is to create a better driving experience for motorists, as well as better recreational experiences for bicyclists and pedestrians. If the City receives federal funding for the project, construction is tentatively expected to begin in 2024 and last for approximately 12 months.
