~ Naperville, IL- In the early hours of Sunday, June 30, 2024, a gunshot was reported in the 1500 block of Watkins Lane. According to the caller, three individuals were involved in a heated argument in the parking lot when a gunshot was heard. The three subjects then fled on foot.
Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered evidence that a person had been shot. Further investigation revealed that the victim, a male from Bolingbrook, had sustained a gunshot wound and had transported himself to a nearby hospital for treatment. Fortunately, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The initial findings suggest that this was an isolated incident and not a random act of violence. As such, there is no threat to the community at this time.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the shooting is urged to contact the Naperville Police Department at 630-548-2955 or via email at NapervilleCrimeTips@naperville.il.us. The authorities assure that all tips will be kept confidential.
