NAPERVILLE, Ill. — At 6:44 a.m. on Monday morning, July 19, Naperville's Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) received a 911 call for the report of a vehicle in the water at Brookdale Road and Bond Street. Naperville 911 (PSAP) dispatched a Dive Box Alarm assignment to the reported address. The response included the Naperville Fire Department Dive Team, two Medics, two Engines, one Squad, one Ladder Truck, Battalion 1 and Battalion 2.

The first fire unit arrived on the scene at 6:46 a.m. and reported a vehicle in the water. The responding fire crews immediately donned their Personal Protective Equipment and entered the water. The vehicle driver was located in the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was immediately removed from the vehicle and transferred to the Medic unit on the scene.

The single patient was transported to Edward Hospital for further medical attention. The Naperville Fire Department Dive Team searched the vehicle and the entire body of water, and no additional victims were located.

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted on the scene by the Warrenville Fire Protection District and the Naperville Police Department. There was no report of firefighter injuries on the scene.
