PROVIDENCE, R.I. - illiNews -- The National Perinatal Information Center's (NPIC) Board of Directors and President Janet H. Muri are very pleased to announce that Elizabeth Rochin, PhD, RN, NE-BC has accepted the position of President, effective August 1, 2019. Dr. Rochin will work closely with the Board and staff to continue to expand NPIC's portfolio of products and services and its recognized excellence in providing data driven quality improvement insights to its national collaborative of perinatal hospitals and partner organizations.
Dr. Rochin comes to NPIC with extensive clinical experience in obstetric and neonatal care, as well significant administrative leadership experience. She most recently served as Vice President, Education and Clinical Solutions, Chief Nursing Officer for the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing (AWHONN).
Prior to joining AWHONN, Dr. Rochin held executive leadership roles within HCA Northern Virginia and the Inova Children's Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia. In these roles, she led successful initiatives including physician and nursing engagement, enhanced patient experience, volume growth and quality improvement. Prior nursing leadership and perinatal nursing experience includes the University of North Carolina Health System at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Dr. Rochin obtained her Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from the University of Virginia and Master's Degree in Nursing Administration from East Carolina University. She obtained her Doctoral Degree at East Carolina University in Nursing Administration with a research focus on population health and patient activation/engagement in rural healthcare settings.
Established in 1985 as a Providence, RI non-profit organization, NPIC is dedicated to the improvement of perinatal health through comparative data analysis, program evaluation, health services research, and professional continuing education. To learn more about NPIC, visit npic.org.
