POPLAR GROVE, Ill. - illiNews -- Poplar Grove, Illinois based Tales of Wonder and Dread publishing released its first three books on September 4th, 2018. To commemorate the third anniversary, T.O.W.D. has published two new books on today. The two books are "Spooky Stories: Creepy Fiction and Non-Fiction Tales and Poetry" and "Relics, Remnants and Artifacts: More Collected Works of Gary Hill."
In his blurb for the book, Mike Korn (aka Dr. Abner Mality) of Wormwood Chronicles said of "Spooky Stories," "Prepare yourself for a veritable feast of eeriness, with prolific author Gary Hill as your guide into ghostly realms. "Spooky Stories" is an eclectic dive into the strange and chilling, featuring all-time classics of weird fiction from Poe, Lovecraft and other hallowed names and brand-new fictional tales including works by Heath Alberts, Elizabeth Lynn Blackson, Frank Coffman, Stephan Osborne and Gary Hill himself. Amid the pages of these stories you will encounter zombies on the prowl, a vampire on a transatlantic voyage, evil books of cursed sorcery, a ghost hunt gone terribly wrong and wicker furniture turned into weapons of murder. It's a true buffet of the bizarre and brutal!...There's also a generous sampling of macabre poetry from masters of verse such as Longfellow, Robert Burns, John Donne and newer voices such as Ernie Fuhr and Frank Coffman. And finally, author Hill takes us on a tour haunted breweries and other spooky locations from across the United States and beyond. There's enough weird entrees here to satisfy the appetite of even the most ghoulish gourmet. Enter the pages of "Spooky Stories" and lose yourself in a world of the gruesome and spectral!"

"Relics, Remnants and Artifacts" gathers up all the short fiction Gary Hill has written since his last collection and combines that with Halloween and Christmas based music articles, film and music reviews, tales of haunted locations and even some poetry in a new collection. A dozen of the pieces in the book have never been previously published. In the blurb for the book, author Heath D. Alberts ("Last Rights," "Terminal Beginning" and more) said, "Gary Hill is one of those rare talents who can compose a tale about just about anything and suck your mind in to the space he creates. From strange fiction to history, Hill never fails to deliver succinct tales of interest with something for everyone in his repertoire. So settle in, get comfortable, and permit 'Relics, Remnants and Artifacts' to wend its way into your curious minds."
