Karen I. Hirsch Photos Selected for Recognition by Photo Industry Experts
CHICAGO - illiNews -- The 13th Annual Color International Awards gave honors to four photos by Chicago-based Karen I. Hirsch in four different categories: Silhouettes, Architecture, Fine Art, and Children of the World. Honorable mentions went to two photos that she made in Houston, Texas last year - Stepping through the Light and Chapel of St. Basil. Jurors also nominated the images Luminescent Presence. that Hirsch made in Chicago, and Guarani Girl, that she photographed in Iguazu Falls, Argentina.
6,093 entries were received from 73 countries.
The Jury represented some of the industry's biggest names from magazines, broadcasting, corporations, galleries and museums including Newsweek, New York; Apartheid Museum, Johannesburg; The Art Channel, London; Netflix, Los Angeles; Koller Auctions, Zurich; Preus Museum, Norway; Galerie Mitterrand, Paris; Fila, New York; Wieden & Kennedy, Portland; Kolle Rebbe, Hamburg; Fox Broadcasting Network, Los Angeles; Gallery Kong, Seoul; Mini/BMW Group, London; and the Royal Academy of Art and The Hague, Netherlands.

About Karen I. Hirsch: Karen I. Hirsch is an international award-winning photographer and digital artist based in Chicago, Illinois. Her photos have been published internationally in books, newspapers, magazines and calendars. She is active in the photographic community as a member of the American Society of Media Photographers and the American Photographic Artists. She is co-president of Fort Dearborn-Chicago Photo Forum, an historic not-for-profit photo organization.
