"Our mission is simple: to foster community spirit and give Uhland the identity it deserves," says Ron Merrill, founder and Trail Boss of Uhland Pop Shop. "Uhland has a rich history, from the Turkey Foot Cattle Company of the 1840s to the Uhland Mercantile Company that served the town for many years. Merrill, a member of the Uhland community since 2018, has deep ties to the town as both a business owner and a public servant, having served on the City Council and the Economic Development Corporation. "Uhland is growing rapidly, but it's lacked a solid identity in the larger region," Merrill explains. "I wanted to do my small part to help create that identity and build community pride.
