CHICAGO - illiNews -- The Athenaeum Center Announces Strictly Chicago Series with Kick Off Concert Featuring E. Faye Butler
Chicago, IL – The Athenaeum Center for Thought & Culture is excited to announce a monthly music series featuring Chicago artists, titled Strictly Chicago Series. Musical artists from a range of genres including jazz, folk, classical, and rock will be featured. The concerts will take place in the newly renovated Paradiso room, an intimate venue with configurable seating and a beautiful bar.
The series commences on October 3 at 7:30 p.m. with a Birthday Tribute to Dinah Washington. Honoring the "Queen of the Blues" is renowned jazz and blues vocalist, E. Faye Butler, supported by another Chicago favorite, Jeremy Kahn, on the piano. Additional events in the series will be announced in the coming weeks.
"We are honored to begin our new series with celebrated artists E. Faye Butler and Jeremy Kahn," said Lawrence Daufenbach, Executive Director and Founder of the Athenaeum Center for Thought & Culture. "With this series we aim to create a space known for highlighting the incredible depth and range of musical talent in our city."
