CHICAGO - illiNews -- Last night, on Friday, January 23rd, 2026, at around 7:45pm, shots rang out on the 7900 block of S Ingleside Ave. leaving a suspect shot multiple times by a Chicago Police Department officer and a woman shot in the shoulder by the suspect, 28-year-old Pierre Davis. The police responded to a distressing 9-1-1 call about a domestic dispute, where a woman was allegedly shot and stabbed, and when the suspect tried to flee from the scene, the officer gave chase on foot before several shots were fired at him by the suspect. In response, the officer discharged his weapon towards the suspect, hitting him once in each arm, once in the back, and once in the armpit, according to Chicago Police Department scanner activity. In a video uploaded by a user on the Citizen's App, you can see Davis, who was wearing a black ski mask, being hauled away by two CPD officers and two paramedics from the Chicago Fire Department while screaming loudly in pain. The female victim, who was shot inside of her apartment unit, was transported to hospital in stable condition, and the suspect was left in serious condition following the shoot-out with police.
