NCCER- and NABCEP-Certified Program Combines Classroom Instruction, Hands-On Training, and VR Simulations; Registration Deadline June 10
CHICAGO - illiNews -- The GE Chamber of Commerce and GE Chamber Foundation today announced the launch of the Englewood Shared Renewables (ESR) Solar + Electric Vehicle (EV) Training Program, a six-week intensive designed to equip adult learners in the Englewood community with the skills and certifications needed to enter the fast-growing clean energy workforce. The program begins June 17, 2026.
The ESR program prepares participants for careers in electric vehicle technology and solar energy integration, with a focus on the transition from traditional combustion energy systems to electric vehicle platforms and renewable energy solutions. Graduates will be positioned to pursue employment in the construction and renewable energy industries.

Students will gain hands-on experience across a broad range of in-demand technical and professional skills, including:
Blended Learning Model
The program combines classroom instruction, hands-on work experience, and virtual reality (VR) simulations to create a rich, immersive learning environment. Upon completion, participants will be prepared to sit for both NABCEP and NCCER certification exams, two of the most recognized credentials in the solar and construction trades.
