CHICAGO, May 13, 2025 ~ Chicago entrepreneur and social impact advocate Dee M. Robinson has reason to celebrate as her brand, Good Trouble Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, has recently been awarded a Gold Medal at the 2025 San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC). This prestigious honor is one of the highest in the spirits industry and comes on the heels of a Silver Medal win at the 2024 SFWSC, solidifying Good Trouble's rise in the market.
Good Trouble is not just any bourbon, it is a highly-awarded small-batch spirit that combines exceptional craftsmanship with social advocacy. Robinson founded the brand with a mission to not only create a great-tasting bourbon but also to use it as a tool for sparking connection, conversation, and change. She explains, "Good Trouble Bourbon is more than a spirit—it's an experience designed to spark connection, conversation, choice and change."
From carefully selected grains to aging in charred oak barrels, every element of Good Trouble is crafted for smoothness, depth, and complexity. But beyond its quality taste, the brand also embodies its name by fostering progress and purpose. A portion of proceeds from each bottle sold goes towards supporting the Shine Your Light Foundation, a non-profit organization that promotes inclusivity, equity, and tolerance through community-driven initiatives.

Robinson's passion for Kentucky bourbon led her to create Good Trouble after falling in love with the spirit during a tasting. She immersed herself in its craft by collecting bottles, taking courses, and visiting distilleries. With her deep experience in the food and beverage industry and determination to create a bourbon with purpose, she collaborated with 8th-generation master distiller Jacob Call to bring her vision to life.
The bold label of Good Trouble features a diverse representation of Lady Liberty holding her torch atop a raging bull—a symbol of unity, resilience, and using one's voice for justice and inclusion. The brand's message has resonated with consumers, and Good Trouble is now available in 40 states online, as well as major retailers and restaurants in Illinois and at Louisville's Muhammad Ali International Airport. The brand has plans to expand into select new markets in the near future.
