PITTSBURGH, Aug. 18, 2025 ~ An inventor from Olympia Fields, Illinois has created a new accessory that aims to solve a common problem for football coaches. The E Z SPEAK MIC-GUARD, as it is called, is designed to conceal a coach's mouth when speaking into a communication headset microphone.

The inventor, who wishes to remain anonymous, came up with the idea after noticing the need for a solution to prevent others from reading lips and determining which plays were being called. "I wanted to create something that would block the mouth and eliminate the need for coaches to hold up a clipboard or other item in front of their face," said the inventor.
