Recognition honors decades of support for patient care, cancer research, and the Springfield community
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - illiNews -- Isringhausen Imports has been named the 2026 Distinguished Donor of the Year by the SIU School of Medicine, a tribute to the family's decades‑long commitment to advancing patient care, cancer research, and community well‑being throughout central Illinois. The honor was presented earlier this summer at the Harbinger Dinner in Springfield.
Success has taken Isringhausen Imports around the world, but the dealership has remained deeply rooted in its hometown. For more than 45 years, the Isringhausen family has supported SIU Medicine and Simmons Cancer Institute through philanthropy, volunteerism, and long‑standing partnerships that strengthen medical care across the region.
For Geoff and Jennifer Isringhausen, the recognition reflects values passed down through generations — hospitality, professionalism, and a responsibility to serve others. Jennifer has played a central role in guiding the family's charitable efforts while dedicating much of her own time to supporting people in need throughout the Springfield community.

A Legacy of Service
The Isringhausen story began in 1981, when Geoff's brother Rob founded the dealership as a pre‑owned European automotive retailer. From the outset, the business embraced a national reach — even advertising in The New York Times the week it opened — while maintaining a strong local presence.
Geoff joined the company in 1984, helping lead its evolution into a multi‑brand luxury dealership representing Porsche, Mercedes‑Benz, Volvo, and BMW. As the business grew, so did its philanthropic footprint.
In 1999, Isringhausen Imports hosted the inaugural Denim & Diamonds gala in its original Jefferson Street showroom, launching what would become one of the region's signature fundraising events benefiting cancer research and care at SIU School of Medicine. The dealership has remained a dedicated supporter ever since.
In receiving the 2026 Distinguished Donor of the Year award, Isringhausen Imports reaffirms its long‑standing commitment to strengthening health care, supporting cancer research, and investing in the future of Springfield. The family's continued partnership with SIU School of Medicine reflects a shared belief that thriving communities are built through service, generosity, and leadership.
