~ Naperville, IL- The City of Naperville has announced that they will be partnering with Fox Valley Fire and Safety to perform fire sprinkler line upgrades at two parking facilities in the city. The upgrades will take place at the Van Buren Parking Deck located at 43 W. Van Buren Ave., and the Central Parking Facility located at 75 E. Chicago Ave.
According to city officials, the work is set to begin on April 27 and will be completed in phases to minimize disruption. The first phase will involve upgrading large sections of fire sprinkler line pipe at the Van Buren Parking Deck, which will result in closures on the second and third levels of the facility. This phase is expected to take approximately two weeks, pending weather or unforeseen circumstances.
During this time, some Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) parking spaces may be affected; however, ample ADA-compliant parking will still be available in all open areas of the parking deck. Crews will start on the second level and complete half of it before moving up to the third level.
Once work is complete at the Van Buren Parking Deck, similar upgrades will begin on the second level of the Central Parking Facility. The start date for this phase will depend on the completion of work at the Van Buren Parking Deck and is expected to take approximately one week.

City officials have stated that exact work dates for both facilities will be posted on their website as information becomes available. They also advise that crews will generally work from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and most parking spaces will reopen for weekend use unless otherwise noted.
To ensure safety during this project, traffic signage and barricades will be in place to indicate closed areas and direct motorists through work zones. Visitors are advised to follow all posted detour and closure signs and use caution while accessing both parking decks while work is ongoing.
