~ The Naperville Police Department has announced that they are now accepting applications for their upcoming Citizen Police Academy (CPA). The 10-week program will provide citizens with a unique opportunity to gain insight into the inner workings of police operations, practices, and objectives. The academy is set to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024 and will continue every Wednesday night until Nov. 20.
According to Police Chief Jason Arres, the CPA is an excellent opportunity for residents to get a behind-the-scenes look at how the Naperville police department operates. Through classroom lectures, interactive discussions, and hands-on demonstrations, participants will learn about various aspects of police work such as patrol, investigations, forensics, and special response.
