~ The Naperville Police Department has announced that they are now accepting applications for their upcoming Citizen Police Academy (CPA). This 10-week program, which will be held this spring, aims to give citizens a deeper understanding of the inner workings of police operations, practices, and objectives.
According to Police Chief Jason Arres, the CPA is an excellent opportunity for residents to gain insight into how the Naperville police department conducts their business. Through classroom lectures, interactive discussions, and hands-on demonstrations, participants will learn about various aspects of policework such as patrol, investigations, forensics, and special response.
The academy will begin on Wednesday, March 4 and continue every Wednesday night until May 6. Interested candidates must submit their applications by Friday, Jan. 30, 2026. Applications will be considered in the order they are received and class size is limited due to course content and activities.
