~ Naperville Police are currently investigating a reported break-in and assault that occurred on Saturday, April 11, 2026. According to the victim, Joseph C. Rush, a 36-year-old Aurora man, entered their apartment through an unlocked balcony door and proceeded to physically attack them before fleeing the scene.
The incident took place at approximately 4:37 a.m. in the 700 block of Inland Circle. Upon receiving the call, officers were dispatched to the location and spoke with the victim who identified Rush as the perpetrator. The victim sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment.
Rush is described as a black male with short black hair and a black goatee. He stands at 6 feet tall and weighs around 160lbs. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white hoodie, black puffy jacket, ripped light blue jeans, and black gym shoes.

The Naperville Police are seeking to question Rush in connection with this incident. They have urged anyone who sees him or has information about his whereabouts to immediately contact 9-1-1.

The motive behind this break-in and assault remains unclear at this time. The police have assured that they will continue to work diligently towards finding answers and bringing justice for the victim.
