The Naperville Police Department recently completed a round of tobacco/alternative nicotine product compliance checks on Nov. 21 and 22, 2022. The compliance checks were performed at 73 Naperville businesses to determine if local tobacco/alternative nicotine product retailers are complying with the minimum-age tobacco laws that prohibit the sale of tobacco/alternative nicotine products to persons under the age of 21.
The following nine (9) establishments failed to successfully pass the compliance check, resulting in City Ordinance citations for selling tobacco/alternative nicotine product to a person under the age of 21 years old:
CBD Vape Smoke, 4003 Plainfield-Naperville Rd. #105

With the help from a grant awarded by the Illinois Department of Human Services Tobacco Enforcement Program, the Naperville Police Department educates local tobacco/alternative nicotine product retailers on minimum-age tobacco/nicotine product laws and the importance of verifying the age of customers before selling age-restrictive products such as tobacco/alternative nicotine products. Tobacco/alternative nicotine product retailers are given a retailer education packet and notified that the compliance checks are going to occur in the near future.
The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
