NAPERVILLE, Ill. ~ Naperville, Illinois - On Wednesday morning, the Naperville Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a fire alarm activation at 6:49 a.m. on the alarm board. The ECC quickly dispatched two fire suppression units to investigate the alarm activation on Citygate Lane in the 2100 block.
As the units were en route, they were informed that a fire had been reported in a residential unit. This prompted an immediate upgrade to a full still assignment, which included two engines, one ladder truck, one medic unit, and two battalion commanders.
Upon arrival at the scene, the fire suppression companies conducted a thorough survey of the structure and provided an on-scene report. They also established command and made entry into the occupancy. It was confirmed that the fire had been extinguished by the building's sprinkler system.

Thankfully, all occupants were safely out of the structure and there were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters. Crews then proceeded to perform an overhaul of the fire area and secured the sprinkler system to contain any potential hazards.
The Naperville Fire Department received assistance from the Naperville Police Department at the scene. After further investigation, it was determined that the cause of the fire was accidental. Unfortunately, several occupants were displaced as a result of this incident.
The quick response and efficient actions of both emergency services helped prevent any serious damage or injuries from occurring. The Naperville community is grateful for their dedication and bravery in keeping them safe.
